We are seeking a seasoned Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive team and help guide the company through its next phase of growth and market leadership.
Position Summary
The CFO will serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and executive team, responsible for all aspects of financial strategy, planning, compliance, and operations. This role requires a balance of hands-on financial management and big-picture strategic leadership, ensuring the company remains profitable, compliant, and positioned for long-term success.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute financial strategies to support growth, scalability, and profitability.
- Partner with the CEO and executive team on long-term planning, M&A, and new market opportunities.
- Present clear financial insights and recommendations to the Board of Directors.
Financial Operations
- Oversee accounting, payroll, and financial reporting functions.
- Manage budgets, forecasts, and cash flow for multiple businesses (construction services, consulting, and product distribution).
- Implement job costing and project profitability tracking systems.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and environmental regulations (including stormwater, labor, and construction reporting requirements).
- Manage audits, tax filings, and external financial relationships.
- Develop internal controls and risk management policies.
Capital Management
- Lead banking, lender, and investor relations.
- Optimize capital structure, oversee financing, and manage company credit.
- Support growth initiatives through smart capital allocation.
Technology & Systems
- Upgrade and manage ERP, accounting, and project management systems.
- Drive automation and data transparency across financial processes.
- Create dashboards for real-time financial insights.
Leadership & Culture
- Build and lead a high-performing finance team across multiple locations.
- Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and efficiency.
Serve as a role model for integrity and values within the company.
- Proven experience as CFO, VP of Finance, or equivalent senior finance role in construction, environmental services, staffing, or related industries.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, compliance reporting, and financial best practices.
- Experience with project-based financials, job costing, and multi-entity operations.
- Track record of scaling companies, implementing financial systems, and supporting growth.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills; able to translate financial data into actionable insights.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA/MBA preferred).
