Summary of Position: The Assistant Controller will work very closely with the Vice President, Finance on all accounting matters as they arise. The ideal candidate will be able to take a hands-on approach with every task, while also keeping a macro-level view of the business at large.
Develop supporting documentation for audits and other reporting requirements
Manage the financial aspects of company retirement plan
Establish and maintain internal controls/internal audit
Manage financial aspects of insurance including subcontractor default insurance, company policies, and captive
Administration of employee stock plan
Manage expense tracking for Blach’s building tenant
Provide G & A budget support, including ongoing monitoring of budgets and variances
Manage project accounting and financial statements for large joint-venture construction project
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
Five or more years of experience
Knowledgeable in tax accounting
Construction industry experience preferred
Excellent Microsoft Office skills
Excellent with transactional aspects of accounting
Extreme attention to detail, highly organized
Proactive, takes initiative on all projects
Great analytical and critical thinking skills
Problem solver, solutions-oriented
Position Status: Full-time, regular business hours, non-exempt
