Summary /Objective:Clark Pacific is in search of a self-directed and experienced Controller to oversee all routine area of the company’s finance/accounting department. The position is responsible for financial reporting, budget and forecasting, financial analysis, and accounting and control. This job reports directly to the Director of Accounting and Finance. If you have a strong background in corporate financial management, and a strong desire to become a part of a dynamic team, you may be the perfect person to fill this position.Essential Function, Duties, and ResponsibilitiesReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Manage all routine areas of finance and accounting operations.Safeguard assets and assure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audits, controls and checks across all departments.Provide visionary leadership within the department.Participate in the development of and support the company’s strategic plans.Manage the day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, payroll, fixed asset records, and general & entity accounting.Monitor the financial performance of the company.Prepare and publish timely monthly financial reporting package.Develop and manage internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, and program budgets and actual expenditures.Assure financial plans are consistent with organizational goals.Research technical accounting issues for compliance.Perform month-end and year-end close process and assist in annual audit, ensuring compliance with GAAP requirements and regulatory requirements are met.Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.Cash Flow Forecasting and Management.Records retention and retrieval. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Physical DemandsThis is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.TravelThis position requires limited travel.
Proven working experience as a Financial Controller.10+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance required.Advanced degree with an emphasis in business a plus.CPA certification required.Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.Experience with creating financial statements.Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process.Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.Understanding of construction industry accounting preferredViewpoint experience preferred.Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
