Supported by a highly developed internal sales and marketing organization, our team of consultants will provide a range of professional advisory services to construction contractors, with access to our 5,000+ active clients. They’ll also collaborate on leading educational resources that positively impact contractors and their businesses. This position will report to the VP of business development.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide business advisory services and coaching to new and existing construction clients • Interview client management and employees, analyze processes and financial information, and identify key issues • Develop plans to implement strategic recommendations, present recommendations to client stakeholders and manage execution • Prepare clients for new software implementation, including audit and review, cost structure and chart of accounts evaluation, and processes improvement • Facilitate training of client office staff in bookkeeping processes and procedures • Consult and collaborate on educational content and curriculum development • Develop growing book of client relationships with the support of our sales and marketing departments, starting with our client base of over 5,000 construction clients • Travel within the United States up to 50% of the time • Perform special projects and additional duties as assigned
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: • Bachelor’s degree required (MBA, MAcc or JD desirable) • 5 or more years’ relevant experience in a consulting firm working within the private sector • Knowledge of internal controls, quality assurance procedures and GAAP reporting • Outstanding relational skills and the ability to communicate effectively to audiences that may not have robust business knowledge • General knowledge of employment laws and best practices • Strong ability to assimilate easily and quickly into different teams • Self-motivated, entrepreneurial drive to develop personally and professionally • CPA, CMA, CCIFP or related designation desirable • Experience in the construction industry
