Our construction client needs a CFO for the responsibility of all Financial and IT aspects of company operations, information management and general business management. This role, reporting directly to the Owners, will manage day-to-day operations and as a key member of the Senior Management Team, will help develop strategic growth initiatives.
•Directly supervise Controller to assure compliance with all company reporting and tax requirements, as well as efficient processes and adequate internal controls.
•Directly supervise IT Director to maximize organizational efficiency and required information to manage the company.
•Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems and processes that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the company.
•Will act as primary company representative for banking, bonding, insurance, outside accountants and general legal counsel. Must develop and maintain a good working relationship with the primary contact for each.
•Optimize cash position by monitoring A/R and collections. Work directly with Operations personnel to collect all past due receivables and retainage as soon as contractually allowed.
•Responsible for arranging financing of equipment and capital purchases. This involves negotiating credit lines with various financing entities and maintaining an ongoing relationship with them.
•As a member of the Leadership Team, participate in the development and execution of the company's Strategic Plan. •Prepare quarterly Finance report to Company Board and attend appropriate portion of Quarterly Board meetings. Maintain corporate file of Board Minutes.
•Review monthly Borrowing Base Certificate to bank, sign and submit on a timely basis. Prepare P&L and Cash Forecasts for Board, Bank and Surety.
•Coordinate preparation of Annual Budget. Provide monthly progress reporting to the Leadership Team and Shareholders.
•Participate with the Leadership Team in annual renewal of company benefits plans.
•Biannually calculate benefits and insurance burdens. Monitor burden accruals on a monthly basis to ensure adequate cost recovery. •Responsible for oversight and administration of company 401(k) Profit Sharing Plan and Health Insurance Trust. •Maintain appropriate governance documents for outside contracts with other companies. Monitor governance requirements to assure ongoing compliance. •Responsible for coordinating annual tax return preparation for all entities and, as required, shareholders. Coordinates annual business Insurance Renewal process.
•Manage all legal and collection matters in which the company is involved.
•Monitor company's D&B report to ensure accurate reporting on the company. Take necessary steps to have report updated and improved as necessary.
•Responsible for special projects that are financial in nature. Advise Senior Team on financial matters as requested.
•Responsible for advising shareholders and management team of financial concerns and generation of ideas to enhance outcomes, processes and financial operations of the company.
•Perform other duties as assigned.
•Supervise Controller and IT Director.
•Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
•Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
•4-year college degree in accounting or finance.
•Minimum of 10 years construction accounting experience or equivalent. Civil/Heavy highway construction a plus.
•CPA and/or CCIFP preferred, but not required.
•Strong ability to negotiate with customers, banks, and vendors and suppliers
•Top-notch organizational skills.
•Solid computer skills in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
•Strong math and accounting skills.
•Analytical: ability to synthesize complex and diverse information.
